How I am reminded of Drew each day

Each morning I awake very early to start my day (2-3 AM) I usually grab the flashlight and head out to our backyard and garden area. About 2 weeks past we placed one of Andrew’s a high school graduation gifts in our garden. It is a solar light with the U.S. Navy insignia on it

This is the first thing I see each morning. I think of Andrew each day, wondering what he is doing, where he is at sea and hoping he is happy. It’s nice to see the Navy insignia each morning. It reminds me of Drew and how much I love him. At times, tears trickle down my cheeks.

Summer time in the rockies, I am reminded of Andrew now that it is spring in the Colorado mountains. When Andrew was very young he would come live with his 'Aunt Thumper, in the mountains, he learned to ride a horse, four-wheeler, fish, snowmobile, track animals, ect, but one of Andrew's favorite adventures was to go the river and spend endless hours throwing rocks into the rapid moving water. Now Andrew's adventures have taken him to water very strange to most of us,but not to Drew, his natural love for the water is being fulfilled by his Navy adventure!! Hope he is finding the same satisfaction as he did as a little boy throwing every rock he could hold, into the water, with the same smile on his face as then. I Love you Andrew, come back to us soon.

. . . and I sit outside each night after it's dark outside so I can see the glowing Navy rock. It's my way to connect with Andrew each night. Then, I look at the moon, realize we're seeing the same one, and that makes my mom heart happy!
